After you’ve followed the steps in Create a New Campaign and decided what type of campaign you would like to create, follow the below steps to setup your campaign.

When selecting a campaign type, select Promotional/Batch or Triggered. Then follow one of the below examples:

  • Setup a One-Time Broadcast Campaign.

  • Setup a Behavioral Trigger. Examples: Abandoned Cart, Abandon Product, Abandon Search, Post Purchase

  • Setup a Product Notification. Examples: Price Decrease, New Arrivals

  • Setup a Custom Automated Campaign.

If you are participating in one of our Pilot programs and have access to additional Campaign Types, please consult with your Customer Success Manager before setting up the campaign.

ONE-TIME BROADCAST CAMPAIGN

  1. Enter a Campaign Name.

  2. Select an audience to target.
    You also have the option to split your audience. Select this option to split your audience by one of Bluecore’s Predictive Filters, like Customer Lifetime Value or Discount Preference. See Split an Audience for more information.

  3. Select a Date and Time to send the campaign. This may be scheduled.

  4. Select an Email Service Provider.

  5. Click Save & Continue.

BEHAVIORAL TRIGGER

  1. Enter a Campaign Name.

  2. Determine if you’d like to split the audience. Select yes if you would like to send different communications based on: Customer Lifetime Value, Discount Preference, Lifecycle Stage, Purchase Count. See Split an Audience for more information about these options.

  3. Determine how long after a customer (searches/views a product/abandons their cart/purchases) to trigger the email.

  4. Select a frequency cap, if applicable.
    No frequency cap: Everyone who qualifies for the audience should receive the email, regardless of other emails they have received.
    Set frequency cap: Select the customers who you would like to exclude from qualifying for a trigger.

  5. Add customer qualifiers, such as membership status or birthday.

  6. Select an Email Service Provider.

  7. Click Save & Continue.

PRODUCT NOTIFICATION TRIGGER

Setup a New Arrivals or Price Decrease Campaign.

  1. Enter a Campaign Name.

  2. Select an audience to target.
    For New Arrivals: The most common configuration is Customers who viewed products that are similar based on gender and category in the last 30 days.
    For Price Decrease: The most common configuration is Customers who viewed products that dropped in price and did not purchase them in the last 30 days.

  3. Determine if you’d like to split the audience. Select yes if you would like to send different communications based on: Customer Lifetime Value, Discount Preference, Lifecycle Stage, Purchase Count. See Split an Audience for more information about these options.

  4. For New Arrivals Only: What is the minimum number of new arrivals required to trigger an email?
    This selection lets you increase the number of required new products for an email to be triggered. For example, you can require at least 5 products within the category to be new on your website for an email to trigger to customers who have viewed similar products.

  5. For Price Decrease Only: What is the price drop threshold required to trigger an email?
    This selection lets you set the threshold by which products have to drop in price in order for an email to automatically trigger. For example, you can require products to drop in price by $10 or 10% in order for them to be eligible for inclusion in a Price Decrease Campaign.

  6. Select a Date and Time to send the campaign. This may be scheduled.

  7. Select a frequency cap if applicable.
    No frequency cap: Everyone who qualifies for the audience should receive the email, regardless of other emails they have received.
    Set frequency cap: Select the customers who you would like to exclude from qualifying for a trigger.

  8. Add additional customer qualifiers.

  9. Select an Email Service Provider.

  10. Click Save & Continue.

CUSTOM AUTOMATED CAMPAIGN

  1. Enter a Campaign Name.

  2. Select an audience. You also have the option to split your audience. Select this option to split your audience by one of Bluecore’s Predictive Filters, like Customer Lifetime Value or Discount Preference. See Split an Audience for more information.

  3. Select a Date and Time to send the campaign. This may be scheduled.

  4. Select an Email Service Provider.

  5. Click Save & Continue.

ENTER YOUR MESSAGE

  1. Select Regular or A/B Test as the Campaign Type.

  2. Enter an Email Subject.

  • Abandon Cart: Psst… you left this in your cart.

  • Window Shopping: Remember this?

  • Abandon Search/Category: Still looking? Check these out!

  • Price Decrease: Good News - the price just dropped on your item…

  • Post Purchase: Based on your recent purchase, you’ll love these.

  • Winback: XX% off everything - 3 days only!

    For campaigns using the Visual Template Editor, you can also add optional Preview Text to display for every email sent. This text will be shown below the subject line in most email clients, but will not appear in the email template once it is opened.

3. Click + Add tracking parameter to enter any third-party tracking parameters.
4. Add a template by clicking Copy Existing Template or Create a New Template.
5. Click a smart content block to edit or assign its rule. A smart content block is a placeholder for smart content. The smart content block will populate with personalized content based on the email recipient and the rule you assign to it. For more information, see Dynamic Product Block Overview. Click the gear icon to edit the smart content block. 

  • NOTE: The smart content block settings only display if you have two or more smart content product blocks in your template. For more information, see Product Settings.

6. Click Save & Continue or Add More Touches. See Add More Touches for more information about this option.

REVIEW YOUR CAMPAIGN

1. Click Edit to make any changes.
2. Preview and test the campaign.

  • Send Test Email: Enter your email address to receive a sample email. Configure a email test group on the marketing settings page that can be edited here.

  • Test Across Email Clients: Test the campaign with varying email clients.

  • URL Validation: Test the links included in the email.

  • View Proofs: Generate a random sample of emails that customers will receive for this campaign.

3. Click Save & Launch Campaign or click Save & Exit.

  • Save & Launch Campaign: The new campaign will now display in your list of active campaigns.

  • Save & Exit: The new campaign will save in draft mode. To access the campaign draft, navigate to its details page and click on the Draft tab. See Edit a Campaign for more information.
